IIHMR Startups, a unit of IIHMR Foundation, is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship through its Health Incubation Centre.
As a unique health incubator, we support startups in healthcare and allied sectors, nurturing innovation and enabling early-stage entrepreneurs to thrive.
IIHMR University, with its 40-year legacy in healthcare management and research and global active partnership with institutions like John Hopkins University, launched IIHMR Startups in October 2021 to support startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the health sector. This initiative aligns with the evolving landscape of global healthcare and prepares young graduates from hospital and health management, pharmaceutical management, and development management for leadership in healthcare entrepreneurship.

To accelerate healthcare innovation by connecting startups with industry leaders and providing essential resources, including access to capital, infrastructure, mentorship, and a powerful network. We aim to drive the commercialization of innovative healthcare solutions, foster sustainable growth, and create a lasting impact on global health.
Objectives

To support, promote, collaborate, undertake and handhold the multisectoral startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs, especially in the health sector but not limited to, public health, health care, health technology, diagnostics, medical device equipment, accessories and consumables, medicines, health and wellness, fitness, nutrition, and allied areas and to provide technical, advisory, knowledge and infrastructure support across various stages of incubation and acceleration.

To develop ideas, innovations, know-how and technologies whether patentable or otherwise, to support and promote startups, innovators and entrepreneurs for the same by attracting and inviting funding from various sources in India or from abroad namely VC funds, Equity, HNI investment, Mutual funds, Government Grants, CSR funds, philanthropies and donations.

IIHMR Foundation has been set up with the aim to serve the society and community at large. The Foundation aim to significantly contribute towards its vision of inclusive and healthy India. Moving well beyond its business activities, the IIHMR Foundation will contribute to a positive societal impact through diverse community engagement initiatives. One of the wings of IIHMR Foundation aims at fostering entrepreneurship through its incubation center IIHMR Startups. IHMR Startups will be a unique Health Incubator supporting startups from Health and allied sectors.
It’s not a question of whether healthcare startups need to innovate or not. The key question is: How? Across the industry, healthcare startups are seeking innovation in their business models, their technology, their processes, and their people to address key challenges and accelerate organizational growth. The genesis of IIHMR University dates to October 5, 1984, when the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) was established. IIHMR University has been established and incorporated as a postgraduate research university by the Government of Rajasthan vide the IIHMR University, Jaipur Act, 2014 (Act No. 3, of 2014). IIHMR University is UGC recognized, NAAC accredited, and ranked 73 NIRF 2021 (Management). IIHMR University is dedicated to the improvement in standards of health through better management of health care and related programmes. It seeks to accomplish this through management research, education, training, consultation, and networking in a national and global perspective.
IIHMR University offers MBA (Hospital and Health Management), MBA (Pharmaceutical Management), MBA (Development Management), Master of Public Health (in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University, USA), Executive Education, and Ph.D. programmes. IIHMR University has collaborations with international and prestigious universities including Johns Hopkins University, USA, Manchester University, UK, Curtin University, Australia for student exchange, faculty exchange, and joint research programmes.

Sector-Focused 3-Month Startup School Program
Aarambh is a 3-month structured program designed to empower healthcare entrepreneurs, innovators, and aspiring founders who have unique ideas but face challenges in execution. The program equips participants with the necessary knowledge, tools, and mentorship to transform their ideas into viable business models. Covering all essential aspects such as idea validation, business model design, customer discovery, and funding readiness, Aarambh provides a strong foundation for entrepreneurs looking to enter and thrive in the healthcare sector.
4–6 Month Growth Incubation Program
Saamarthya is a 4-month growth incubation program, extendable up to 6 months for high-potential startups requiring additional mentoring. The program is designed specifically for post-MVP startups in the healthcare sector who have begun generating revenue and are now looking to scale. Through tailored mentorship, industry connections, and strategic guidance, Saamarthya supports startups in refining their business models, enhancing operational efficiency, and securing growth opportunities.
IIHMR Startups offers a collaborative Corporate Innovation Program that bridges the gap between corporates and innovative startups. This program scouts startups with solutions that align with the business needs of corporate partners in the healthcare, pharma, medical devices, and allied sectors. Through this initiative, we facilitate meaningful partnerships where startups can apply their innovative solutions to solve real-world challenges faced by corporates, fostering mutual growth and impact.
The Health Innovation Challenge is a dynamic platform for students, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs who have groundbreaking ideas, technologies, or products in the healthcare and allied sectors. This competition provides an opportunity to showcase innovations that can address pressing healthcare challenges. The top-performing solutions receive recognition, mentorship, and opportunities to refine and scale their ideas into impactful solutions.
